LAHORE - Junior Polo League (JPL) team defeated Olympia Industries by eight and half goals to six to clinch the Adisseo Polo Cup 2013 title.  In the main final played here at the Lahore Polo Club on Sunday, both the teams played well and amused the crowd with their brilliant performances. Though both the teams struggled hard to win the title but extra efforts and half goal handicap advantage helped JPL beat Olympia Industries to win the title. In the first chukker, Olympia Industries scored two goals one each by Sufi M Farooq and Abdul Rehman Monnoo while JPL also managed one with the help of field goal by Ch Fateh Mehmood. The score at the end of the first chukker was 2-1.  JPL played brilliantly in the second chukker to take an impressive 4-2 lead as they slammed three goals two by Shah Shamyl Alam and one by Saif Noon. Abdul Rehman then scored his second and the team’s third goal to make it 4-3 at the end of the second chukker.  In the third chukker, Shah Shamyl and Ch Fateh scored one goal each to increase their team’s lead to 6-3 while Irfan Sheikh hit one goal for Olympia Industries to make it 6-4.  In the fourth and decisive chukker, both the teams exhibited their prowess and added goals each to make it 8-6. Agha Hashim was the hero of the last chukker as he hit two goals for JPL while Abdul Rehman and Irfan Sheikh hit one goal each for Olympia Industries. Thus JPL, having half goal handicap advantage, won the title 8½-6.  In the nail-biting subsidiary final of the event, half goal handicap advantage helped Sherwood beat Millat Tractors 4½-4.–Staff Reporter
