Media serves as the representative of the country. The powers that media acquire play a vital role in shaping the perception of the people. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that it has a power to change people’s thinking process and persuade them to believe what they want them to believe.
We all are highly aware of the dispute affliction on Indo-Pak border. A single stone’s noise in the Indian Territory diverts their media attention to Pakistan. It wouldn’t be justified to claim that only Indian media is involved in the blame game but Pakistani media has also on numerous occasions blamed India especially at Peshawar School attack. However there is contradiction that at least Pakistan media blames India when a big terrorist activity takes place in the region but Indian media has overly dramatize many issues and blames Pakistan without any proof. The case of the famous pigeon, which India suspects as a spy of Pakistan. Media has the duty to spread the truth rather than using the already built hatred to generate Ratings of their respective channels. Media has been assigned the role to gather information without altering the content with their own perception. The Agenda of Indo-Pak talks should include the matter of media role, to restrain the hatred, which erupts from the freedom of speech.
