ISLAMABAD - Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Justice (Retd) Sardar Raza Khan has written a letter to the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif expressing his profound gratitude at the conclusion of the tensely contested bye-elections in Punjab.

The letter sent from ECP Headquarters has thanked Army Chief for making the polls safe. It says that after the requisition of the troops, the Pakistan Army assisted the Election Commission of Pakistan in fulfilling its constitutional obligation to hold honest, just and fair elections in an effective manner.

Expressing his pleasure over the well-organised performance of Pakistan Army, the CEC has added that the way the Army Officers and the Jawans came out with flying colours in the conduct of bye-polls is, no doubt, a matter of great satisfaction for the ECP and the whole nation.

Furthermore, there is no denying the fact that professionalism and devotion to duty is the hallmark of the Pakistan Army and of course it is an apt reflection of the institution and its courageous leadership.

The CEC has, therefore, asked the army chief to convey his heartfelt feelings to the office of the DG MO and all the concerned formations for making foolproof arrangements.

He has also prayed for the success of Pakistan Army and army chief in all endeavours and victory against all challenges.
