Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, always wears the same kind of dress-pajama, kurta, turban-even on tours of the western countries. He goes around the world in same dress, feeling no embarrassment, sense of inferiority or lack of confidence. Pakistani high officials, Prime Minister, President etc, though, are very conscious about their dress, in particular while on a visit abroad. It is said that a lot of money has to be spent on getting new Armani suits for them whenever PM or president has to go on a foreign tour. Would some psychologist shed some light on why they have this complex? -ANWAR JALAL, Peshawar, via e-mail, August 31.
