LAHORE-The PPP's central Secretary General, Jehangir Badr has said that PPP never got any one murdered, while its leadership and workers were being murdered ruthlessly. He was responding to a question about media reports that some PPP leaders were involved in the alleged planned killing of Lahore High Court Chief Justice, Khawaja Muhammad Sharif at a press briefing held after a party meeting chaired by him on Monday. Badr dismissed the reports terming them a mere allegation. He said PPP had been facing such charges in the past as well. He said opponents were finding excuses to criticise the PPP. He asked them to help the government in rehabilitation of flood affectees instead of indulging in blame game. He said world was facing economic recession and was not helping Pakistan the way it did before. Despite all this, he added, the government, under the dynamic leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Gilani had been able to collect some aid after convincing the world leaders about severity of the situation. He said PPP would continue to help flood affectees till their complete rehabilitation. He said he was compiling a report in this regard for consideration of party's central executive committee. To a question about death of a new born baby allegedly for not getting medical aid due to tight security and protocol of the Punjab CM who visited Children Hospital on Monday, the PPP leader said this question should be asked from the chief minister. He said PPP was free of the politics of protocol. Earlier, Jehangir Badr chaired a party meeting to review efforts being made by party men regarding collection of funds for rehabilitation of flood affectees. It was attended by party's district and divisional presidents and senior PPP leaders including Federal Minister for Defence, Ch Ahmad Mukhtar, party's Punjab Acting President, Sami Ullah Khan, Ch Manzoor and others.
