PNs rescue, supply work continues

KARACHI (APP) - Pakistan Navy (PN) has rescued 15,600 flood affected persons and shifted them to safer places, in its continued operation Madad in the last 24 hours. According to an announcement here Sunday, the Navy has also provided medical aid to 1,820 flood affected people and distributed 35 tons of goods in relief camps. Pakistan Navy has been successfully managing relief camps in Sukkur, Khairpur, Jamshoro and Thatta and helping the flood victims in these camps. Meanwhile, Navy has installed 20 water purification units and hand pumps in these camps and delivered 37,500 kilograms of relief goods to Sukkur. So far, PN rescue teams have shifted 193,050 flood-hit people to safe places and distributed 740,276 kilograms of relief goods among the affectees and provided medical treatment to 36,000 persons.
