KARACHI - Six people were killed in separate incidents of violence in parts of the metropolis during the three days of Eidul Fitr. In the first incident, three drug-addicts were gunned down near shoe-market while a passer-by sustained bullet injuries here in the limits of Garden Police. The police said that 22-year-old Kashif, son of Abdul Hameed, Zubair, 20, son of Hashim and Mohammad Zubair alias Prem, son of Sadiq were sitting in a garbage drum near Shoe-Market and busy in taking drugs when suddenly two armed men reached and open indiscriminate firing on them. Resultantly, they died on the spot and while one passer-by namely Asif fell injured. Tension spread through the entire locality after the incident. The police shifted the bodies and injured to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment and medico legal formalities. The police said that the victims usually took drugs in the same garbage drum and suspected that some people had made an issue of that. The police said that they believed personal enmity was the motive behind the incident because all three had neither political affiliation with any party, nor with any criminal gang. They were the resident of Garden while the police registered a case against unidentified culprits. Separately, a young man was shot dead in Gulistan Colony Usman Abad area in the remit of Garden Police. According to the police officials, 22-year-old Rashid, son of Abdul Aziz was sitting outside his home near Siddique Akbar Mosque, in street No-3 Usman Abad area, when unidentified armed men, on a motorcycle arrived there and fired gunshots at him. Resultantly, Rashid sustain bullet injuries and died after a few moments. The police shifted the body to CHK for legal formalities. According to the police, the victim had no affiliation with any political party and ran garments stuffs stall, adding that personal enmity could be the cause behind the incident. Similarly, a young man was killed during a robbery bid on Super Highway near CNG Pump in the Sohrab Goth Police precincts. The police said that 28-year-old Abdul Hameed, son of Siddique was going to meet his relatives on the second day of Eid when two armed culprits tried to loot money and mobile phone from him. However, they shot him to death when he tried to overpower them. The police shifted the body Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and later handed it over to his family after completing legal formalities. The victim was a resident of Gulzar Hijri and hailed from Khyber Pakhtunkhwah. He was working at a private bank as an accountant. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old man was gunned down at Hussaini Chowk in the remit of Korangi Industrial Area Police. The police said that Asim, son of Sohbat Khan was sitting with his friends near his house at Korangi Sector 8-C when two armed men, on a motorcycle, reached there and opened fire at him, killing him on the spot. The police shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for a post-mortem. The police said the victim, hailed from Hazara. worked at a garments factory and had no political affiliation.
