‘Peace prayer’ for Syria, ME

LAHORE (PR): On September 01, Holy Father Pope Francis, the leader of over 1.2 billion Catholics, issued a plea to Catholics, all Christians, followers of other faiths/creeds and all people of good will, to observe a day of peace, prayer and fasting for peace in Syria and Middle East.
In this regard community of Sant Egidio organized a special peace prayer service in St. Mary’s Church Gulberg Lahore. Parish priest Rev. Fr. William Basharat OFM Cap was the celebrant while Sadia Iqbal and Khurram Pervez of sant Egidio Community Lahore were the organizers of this prayer service.
Addressing the participants Fr. William said, “Our Holy Father Pope Francis has appealed all the people of the world to observe a day of peace, prayer and fasting to express solidarity with the people of Syria, Middle East and other countries of the world. In order to respond to the appeal of Holy Father, Community of Sant Egidio has organized this peace vigil in our parish.”

Medicam supports cricketers
KARACHI (PR): Chairman Medicam Group of Companies and Hon. Council General of D-Jaboti has announced his plan to promote the cricketers in Pakistan.
He said Medicam Group Of Companies has been sponsoring the U-15, U-17, U-19 and U-21 Cricket Tournament since last 15 years to facilitate the children entertainment. In a press conference, Khalil Ahmed Nanitalwala announced that from 2013 every year Medicam Award will be given to the cricketers.
 For this purpose a committee will be formed which will announce the award. Medicam Group of Companies organized Inter School and Inter Colleges Tournament, and also organized clubs tournament under the supervision of Zonal Association of KCCA.
Medicam Group of Companies will be organizing a T-20 tournament on international level with consultancy of Pakistan Cricket Board.

CFE Group’s job fair
LAHORE (PR): CFE Group of Colleges organized its first job fair at ACCA Campus the other day. The event was arranged by Mohammad Bilal Malik, Asst. Manager Marketing. 10 companies participated in this event and all the companies conducted tests and interviews to hire finalist and alumni.
Participating companies included Sefam Pvt Ltd., Servis Industries Limited, PACRA, Chen One, Kashf Foundation, Millat Tractors Limited, UHF & Co, Ilyas Saeed & Company and WorldCALL. 21 CFE students have been recruited as result of this initiative by CFE. The ceremony was concluded by the presentation of souvenirs by Adnan Rashid and Asim Amin to the representatives of the participating companies.
Finalists and Alumni appreciated this new initiate and expressed their gratitude to CFE management and Career Counseling Department for providing them an opportunity to learn about the career opportunities available in the market and employment demands of their sectors.

New campus of City School
LAHORE (PR): A new campus of city school at canal, nearby Thokar Niazbaigh, has been inaugurated. Principal Mrs Mahnaz Khan said the campus, from play group to 4th class, is spacious and has well equipped class rooms. The new campus has been designed keeping in view the needs of small children from 3 to 12 years. She said the monthly performance report of every student will be discussed with parents. The teaching faculty of the campus comprises more than 10 qualified and training teachers .
The teaching faculty of the campus is highly qualified and trained.

Pepsi-Cola, MCR ink deal

LAHORE (PR): Jahanzeb Khan, Country Head Pepsi-Cola Pakistan & Afghanistan, and Maryam Hassan, Chief Executive Officer MCR Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, signed an exclusive agreement for supply of carbonated and non-carbonated beverages to BURGER KING® in Pakistan. The ceremony was attended by senior leadership teams from both organizations.
 “This is a natural alliance,” quoted Romana Aziz Khan, the Director Key Accounts and Capability for Pepsi-Cola Pakistan. According to Ms Khan, “we are very pleased to join hands with BURGER KING® in Pakistan because this arrangement will bring together the two leaders in their respective segments to bring out the best combination of products for their customers in Pakistan”.
According to Danyal Rashid, from MCR (Chief Operating Officer), “We are very happy to partner BURGER KING® with Pepsi-Cola Pakistan who is the market leader in Pakistan. While our first BURGER KING® restaurants are opening in Karachi soon, we will also be taking the flame-grilled taste of our WHOPPER® Sandwich and Pepsi to other cities for our valued consumers soon.

Masala Family Food Festival

KARACHI (PR): On great demand of the fans of Masala channel, HUM Network Ltd has decided to host the Masala Family Food Festival in Lahore for the first time, it was announced here.
The festival will be held on September 14 and 15 at Expo Centre. The event promises to have all the masala, entertainment, stalls, celebrity presence, live cooking, and play area for kids that the Karachi festivals boast of and more, for it will also be the launching pad for Zubaida Tariq’s Cookbook, the second in the series of cookbooks taken out by Masala.
The culinary expert will be present at the venue on both days to autograph her cookbook for her fans and provide them a photo opportunity as well.
Masala Festival has been a regular feature in Karachi since the last two years and its unprecedented success and massive turnouts has led to it becoming a highly sought-after event in the rest of the country as well.
