Nicole Kidman was struck by a professional snapper riding his bicycle on the New York City sidewalk Thursday.

A New York Police Department spokesman tells Cover Media the actress was returning to Manhattan’s Carlyle Hotel when she was hit by a man riding his bicycle on the sidewalk.

“She has minor injuries. Nothing too serious. She refused medical attention at the scene,” the spokesman said.

TMZ identified the bicyclist as photographer Carl Wu.  Photos obtained by the website show Nicole reaching toward the pavement for balance and later holding onto a female companion with one shoe off as the bicyclist laid on the ground.

According to the outlet, the actress plans to press charges. “Witnesses tell TMZ as Wu got dangerously close to Nicole, he appeared to hit his brakes, but it didn’t do the trick. He slammed into her and she went crashing to the ground,” the website claims.

Police declined to confirm Wu’s identity as there is no criminality in the case.  It has yet to be determined if the photographer will be cited for bicycling on the sidewalk. A spokesperson for Nicole has yet to publicly comment on the incident.

The 46-year-old seemed to be having a good time in the Big Apple prior to the run-in, having attended Calvin Klein’s show for New York Fashion Week earlier in the day, Nicole was also recently reported to have taken on Naomi Watts’ lead role in Queen of the Desert.

Werner Herzog is directing the film about early 20th Century explorer Gertrude Bell, according to Deadline, and Naomi bailed out of the project not long ago.

Earlier this year, Jude Law was replaced by James Franco as the leading man of the motion picture, scheduled for release in 2015.
