PESHAWAR  - Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser has expressed concern over spread of dengue disease in the province and asked the government departments to start an active campaign to educate people about the deadly virus. “Instead of using medicines, there is too much need to create awareness about the dengue among general public,” he observed this while replying to a quarry of a member of the provincial assembly during Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly session on Friday.

The KPK Assembly met with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair. The speaker said that dengue has become a problem instead of decreasing the dengue-affected patients are increasing.

He directed the local government, education and information departments to play an active role to educate people about dengue. On this occasion, the speaker allowed the lawmakers to debate on this important issue.  Speaking on the occasion, Local Government Minister Inayatullah Khan said that everybody knows that government has started ‘make cities clean’ drive under the auspices of his department from September 11.  On his turn, Advisor to Chief Minister on Higher Education Mushtaq Ghani said that directives should be issued to health departments to make ready the materials aimed to distribute at schools, colleges and universities to create awareness about the disease.
