LAHORE - The Lahore High Court on Friday cancelled demotion orders of four sub-inspectors of Punjab police and directed Punjab IGP to decide petitioners’ representation after affording them opportunity of hearing.Wajid Ali, Fida Hussain, Ch Razzaq and Arshad Bajwa contended through their counsel Arif Gondal that district police officer concerned had demoted them without hearing them. He pointed out that the LHC had already cancelled demotion orders in another similar nature of case and directed the IGP to decide their case afresh.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Justice Ayesha A Malik set aside demotion order of petitioner-policemen and directed the IGP to decide their representation in one week.
