LAHORE - PML-chief, Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain and Punjab president Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi have condemned police crackdown against leaders and workers of political parties participating in peaceful sit-ins in Islamabad.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, PML-Q top leaders terming the crackdown unconstitutional and illegal said that the rulers afraid of peaceful sit-ins and were heading towards point of no return. They demanded immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested and said that rulers which came to power in the result of rigged elections wanted to silence every voice raised for truth and justice. They claimed that instead of using thousands of policemen of the province for rescuing and providing relief to the flood-hit people and against the criminals, the force was being used for oppression, violence and torture on political workers in Islamabad and other cities. PML-Q leaders warned that the rulers should not invite the wrath of the entire nation, which was tired of their (rulers) oppressive tactics.
