PESHAWAR - Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pukhtunkhwa has warned that action would be taken against PML-N in the province if unlawful arrests of PTI workers were not stopped forthwith.

Condemning the arrest of PTI KP President Azam Swati, Vice President Shibli Faraz and other workers on the directives of central government, PTI KP General Secretary Khalid Masood said the country is under civil martial law and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is involved in protecting a bogus election and bogus parliamentarians.

He condemned that arrests of PTI workers and termed it an unconstitutional act of central government by arresting President PTI KP Azam Swati, Vice President Shibli Faraz and other workers. He said in order to serve his personal purpose the prime minister has turned police into ‘Gullu Butts’ who are acting on the orders of Nawaz Sharif and not according to the law.  He said the PTI workers are being harassed and arrested from streets, which is a clear violation of the constitution of Pakistan. The PTI provincial leadership expressed anger over the treatment of prisoners and said our workers are being kept without food and water.  MPA Arif Yousuf said this attitude of government is forcing civilians to fight back for their rights. “They are being treated worse than war prisoners. On one hand the government says that it wants to negotiate with PTI while on the other hand they are arresting its workers, which clearly shows double standard of the regime,” he added.

Meanwhile a rally of Insaf Youth Wing comprising more than 50 cars started its march towards the capital Saturday to take part in ‘One Nation Day’ in Islamabad.
