SHANGHAI- The Shanghai Cooperation Organization leaders have voiced their support for a political solution to the Ukraine crisis through talks.

A declaration adopted at the end of 14th SCO summit held in the Tajik capital Dushanbe urged that peace should be restored in Ukraine at an early date. The SCO leaders also supported respect for Afghanistan's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. They criticized unilateral and unlimited strengthening of missile defense systems by any state saying it would harm global security.

The SCO has six member states including China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, India and Mongolia also attended the summit as Observers.
