KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) senior leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Thursday resigned from the party decision making body-MQM Coordination Committee over not including him in making key decision of party.

According to details, Sattar had claimed to tender his resignation over personal reason and send his resignation to MQM-P Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. On the other hand MQM-P coordination committee has declined to receive the resignation of the Dr Farooq Sattar. However in a statement Dr Farooq Sattar said that he had tendered resignation as member of the MQM-P coordination committee and the letter signed by him has been send to Bhadurabad office.

Worth mentioning here Sattar has resigned at the time when rumors were widespread that he is going to join Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Furthermore the veteran MQM-P politician had earlier expressing displeasure over the attitude of MQM-P coordination committee stated that it was unfortunate that decision making body of the party did not consult him in making key decisions. He termed the Coordination committee act as an aim to sideline him from the party affairs and added that there is still time for the MQM-P leadership to correct mistakes.

Earlier this month Sattar during interaction with media men complained that MQM-P delegation went to meet Prime Minster Imran Khan but he was not invited and even the party leadership did not bother to invite me when MMA and JUI-Fazl Chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman visited the party Bahadurabad office.

Last week Sattar claimed that the PTI has offered him to contest by-election from NA-247 Karachi constituency while I am going to take the decision over the offer after consulting with friends, he added.
