KARACHI - Opener Behram Khan hammered a superb 133 as UBL gave a strong reply to KESC on the second day of the Patrons Trophy match here Tuesday at UBL ground. Behram Khan, who was unbeaten at six overnight, batted for 220 balls hitting eight fours and two sixes as UBL scored 351 for seven in allotted 83 overs in first innings in reply to KESC's total of 405. At the close of the play, KESC in its second innings had scored 82 for the loss of opener Muhammad Fahim. Batting at the crease are Asad Shafique 28 and Fazal Subhan 41. UBL batted confidently when play resumed on the second morning of the match. Though they had a daunting task lying ahead of them, but UBL openers Behram Khan and Aqeel Anjum batted flawlessly to put on 186 for the first wicket stand that bolstered the confidence of other batsmen who followed them. Aqeel Anjum scored 65. His departure did not disrupt flow of runs and the UBL innings progressed comfortably against a six-man KESC bowling attack in which off spinner Akber-Ur Rehman received more respect from the batsmen. He finished the innings with four for 62. Other major contributors to UBL innings were Saad Surkhail 34, and Tariq Haroon 34. Behram Khan's century was the second in the match.
