LAHORE - Leadership of mainstream political and religious parties has expressed sorrow and grief over the sad demise of renowned religious scholar Dr Israr Ahmed, terming it a big loss for the nation. Paying tributes to late Dr Israr Ahmed for the services he rendered for Islam, the political leadership said that the nation has lost uncontroversial scholar who enjoyed respect of people from all sects. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of Dr. Israr Ahmed. In a condolence message to the bereaved family, the Chief Minister said that in the death of Dr Israr Ahmed the nation has lost a prominent religious scholar. He said that late Dr Israr Ahmed was a great researcher and the author of many religious books. He said that late Dr Israr Ahmed played an important role in the propagation of Islamic teaching and his services for the religion will long be remembered. The Chief Minster prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity. Expressing grief over the death of Dr Israr Ahmed, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has termed it as irreparable loss for the nation. He said that the nation has lost the services of a selfless scholar. He prayed that the Almighty may rest his (Dr Isrars) soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss. Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Syed Munawar Hassan, former JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Secretary General Liaqat Baloch have expressed sorrow over the death of Dr Israr Ahmed. In a joint condolence message, they said that the late scholar rendered matchless services for Muslim ummah. They said that the death of Dr Israr Ahmed was a great loss for the entire umma. They prayed that the Omnipotent may rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give strength to the aggrieved family. Ameer Jamaat-ud-Dawa Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said that the nation would remember forever the services rendered by Dr Israr Ahmed for Islam and the country. He said that the entire nation was with the bereaved family in this hour of distress. Ameer JI Punjab Dr Waseem Akhtar said that the Islamic world has lost a prominent scholar with the sad demise of Dr Israr Ahmed. He said that the late scholar served Islam and the nation with dedication and zeal. Nazim-e-Ala Jamiat Ahle Hadith Hafiz Ibtesam Elahi Zaheer said that the death of Dr Israr Ahmed was a big tragedy for the entire nation. He said that it would take a long time to fill the vacuum created by the death of Dr Israr Ahmed.
