ISLAMABAD (APP) - Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said on Wednesday that Pakistan valued its economic ties with the United States (US) and wanted to enhance the same for the benefit of common man in the country. He stated this while talking to a US economic delegation, led by David Lipton, Senior Director International Economics, National Security Council, who called on the Adviser here Wednesday. Dr. Hafeez Shaikh stressed the need for enhancement of private sectors trade links between the two countries and invited US business entrepreneurs to invest in various sectors of national economy. Appreciating the prominent role of Pakistan in the war on terror, David Lipton said the US wanted to establish long-term relationship with Pakistan in various fields, including economy, trade and commerce. He said the US wanted to assist the Pakistani government in raising the standard of living of ordinary citizens and in this regard all possible economic assistance was being provided.
