NCA launches club coaching programme

LAHORE The National Cricket Academy has its started two months club coaching programme and in the first stage the NCAs designated coaches visited nearly a dozen clubs. The team of the coaches consists of Lahore regions qualified national coaches including head coach, Hafiz Sajjad Akbar, assistant coach Kamran Khan, fielding coach Bilal Ahmed and cricket analyst Sajid Hashmi. The coaches would visit Lahores clubs to find out the talented players for the future requirements. The selected players would be trained in the national cricket academy under the supervision of the national coaches. The club coaching programme began from April 12 and would continue till June 12. As a first step forward, the coaches went to University Sports Complex ground near Civil Secretariat and MAO College cricket ground where a number of registered clubs including Faran Gym, Kirshan Nagar Gym, Chuburji Eaglets, Rashid Memorial, Mozang Link, Sanat Nagar, Islampura Eaglets, Anchor Cricket Club, Ram Nagar Gym, Ludhiyana Gym, Young Ludhiyana Gym, Sanda Gym And Powerful Tiger Club and many other clubs have been practicing in the morning and evening sessions for the last three to four decades. Coaches passed on the cricketing skills to the youngsters regarding batting, bowling, physical fitness standard and fielding techniques as well. During their visit to Faran gym they were so surprised to see the amount of talent. Head coach Sajjad said every week 25 youngsters would be selected from clubs and they would be given professional training at the NCA. No package in terms of money would be given to them but they all would remain in contact with the NCA. In the end, President Faran Gym Mian Aslam appreciated the efforts of the coaches.
