The upper house of the parliament passed all clauses of the historic 18th constitutional amendment on Thursday. Leader of the Opposition in Senate Waseem Sajjad said that the opposition have reservations over the Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa clause of the bill. The upper house Thursday passed the clause with regard to renaming NWFP as Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa with 80 votes during clausewise voting on the bill. PML(Q) opposed the clause in the upper house and proposed renaming NWFP as Sarhad. However 80 senators favored the bill and 12 members of the house opposed it. PML(Q) had proposed amendments in the clause about the new name of NWFP, which were rejected by the house. Earlier, Muslim League (N) and PML-Q senators staged walkout from the session after ANP senator Haji Adeel's outburst against the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah. However, they returned to the house after Senator Haji Adeel apologized on his remarks.
