The Sindh government has reserved a 2% job quota for the disabled people in the posts available with it for primary school teachers in the Education Department of Sindh. The only condition imposed is that these candidates must have secured 60% marks in the tests that were conducted by Sindh University last year. This is, indeed, a commendable initiative but the need is to ensure that appointments against this specified two percent job quota are actually made in the respective union councils. If this quota is implemented in letter and spirit, it would bring a great change in the honourable well being and productive life of the disabled persons in the province. -HASHIM ABRO, Islamabad, April 14.
