LAHORE (PR) - Delegations from 21 universities, 19 local and five international, will attend the 4th Vasaakh documentary film festival being organised by Mass Communication Department of FC College (FCC) from April 18 to 20. Notable foreign universities invited to the festival include University of Oslo, Norway, Delhi University, India, University of Bhopal, India and Katmandu University, Nepal. The festival will showcase student documentaries based on cultural themes and content, and the best will be rewarded. The three-day event includes competition among young film/documentary makers, screening of South Asias best documentaries, training sessions on video productions, discussion sessions and a concluding award ceremony and cultural evening. The Vasaakh film festival, supervised by Dr Saleem Abbas, Head of Mass Communication Department, is an annual feature of the college and provides a platform for the students to exhibit their talent and creativity in the field of film-making. Bringing together various educational institutes in the field of documentary and fiction film-making, the festival enables students to learn the latest trends in the field of film-making and promote our culture and values.
