PESHAWAR Speakers at a seminar titled Devolution of Higher Education Commission and future of Pakistan vowed not to allow the devolution of HEC, and urged the government to retain it as federal subject to ensure quality and uniform education system across the country. The seminar was organized by Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) on Thursday, to highlight the importance of HEC at the existing position and consequences of the devolution, here at press club. Prominent among the speakers included IJT Nazim-e-Aala, Syed Abdur Rasheed, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa nazim Raees Gul, Peshawar Division nazim Abdul Shakur, and former President, Peshawar University Teachers Association (PUTA), Dr Arbab Afridi. Addressing at the seminar, IJT Nazim-e-Ala Syed Abdur Rasheed said there was no need to devolve HEC, as it promoted higher education at university level across the country.
