KARACHI The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Sindh Assembly on Thursday observed huge financial mismanagement and administrative indiscipline inside the jail across the province and said the bribe culture is thriving in prisons due to which the prisoners can easily get contraband drugs and other commodities. The prisoners who can afford to grease the palms of jail officials could easily get any things that they desire. It was all done with the inclusion of the jail staff who openly violate the laws in providing the prisoners even the prohibited items. The PAC, which met with its Chairman Sardar Jam Tamachi Uner in the chair, considered at discussed the audit paras for the year 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 pertaining to Home and attached departments. The committee considered total 18 paras, of which only seven were settled while eleven were deferred due to incomplete record and dissatisfactory reply by the department.
