LAHORE - Pakistan team played superb baseball crushing Nepal team by 21-0 and continued their winning spree in the SAARC Baseball Tournament here at the Punjab Stadium on Thursday. In the first innings, Pakistan collected five scores through impressive performance of Asif, Iftikhar, Imtiaz and Arshad. In the second innings, Nepal pitchers put up resolute fight and did not allow Pakistan to make any score. Pakistani players, however, fought back in the third innings producing four scores with Umair Bhatti, Musaddaq, Asif and Imtiaz adding one score each. The home side batters clobbered Nepali pitchers in the fifth innings making as many as a dozen of scores with Sumair, Arif and Asif getting two scores each while Iftikhar made two scores with one home run. Imtiaz was the best performer of the innings making two scores with one huge home hit. Nepali batters could not survive against the accurate pitching of home pitchers. In all innings, Nepali batters failed to make any score. Chief umpire Park Seong Jun Korean declared the match finished due to score difference. Director General Sports Board Punjab Fahmida Mushtaq was the chief guest on the occasion while Pakistan Baseball Federations Secretary Khawar Shah was also present there. Sri Lanka will face Afghanistan on Friday (today) at 3pm here at Punjab Stadium.
