PIA awards cricket team frequent traveller card

LAHORE?- Pakistan cricket team was awarded PIAs Frequent Flyer Diamond Cards with 20,000 air miles as a token of appreciation by Managing Director of Pakistan Airlines (PIA) Nadeem Khan Yousufzai. Spokesman of PIA?said here on Thursday that a shield of honour was also presented to Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt. The PIA management also hosted a dinner in honour of the West Indies-bound Pakistan team. Speaking on the occasion, the PIA MD said PIA had always supported sports in Pakistan and would continue to play its role for the promotion of sports. He appreciated the performance of the Pakistan cricket team in the recently held Cricket World Cup. It was a collective team effort that Pakistan reached the semi-finals in the World Cup 2011. He also commended the bowling performance of Shahid Afridi and wished the players success in the upcoming West Indies. PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt thanked PIA and especially, the MD PIA Nadeem Khan Yousufzai for inviting the national team for the reception. The dinner reception was also attended by Coach Waqar Younus, Wife of MD PIA, Mrs Zareen Khan Yousufzai, PIA Director Marketing Imran Ahmed Khan, Director Human Resources PIA, Shahnawaz Rehman and other senior officials.
