KARACHI – Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has deplored the bloodshed of innocent people in Quetta, Gilgit and Karachi in sectarian violence and termed it a conspiracy to drive a wedge between the followers of different schools of thought.

According to press statement, Altaf Hussain said that the elements involved in instigating sectarian strife and killings of innocent people were working on a vicious agenda to spoil the environment. Those fanning the fire of sectarian feuds were enemies of the country and must be dealt strongly.

Hussain said that the country was in the throes precarious circumstances, and it was the need of the hour to forge unity, harmony and brotherhood among the people. He appealed to the religious scholars of different schools of thoughts to preach tolerance, patience and brotherhood. He asked the people not to get provoked by any incendiary incident and remain peaceful. He also asked them to frustrate the conspiracies by remaining united.

He also heartfelt systemises to those families who losed loved once have been killed in the sectarian related violence. He also appealed to the President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik to take action against the terrorists involved in it and bring justice for them.
