LAHORE - The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) held a function on Saturday to celebrate golden jubilee of the institution and its successful services of producing best medical professionals.

The Acting Governor Rana Muhammad Iqbal inaugurated the ceremony which was largely attended by local and foreign surgeons. While addressing the participants, CPSP President Zafar Ullah Chaudhry said that the main aim of the institution was to improve the standard of treatment offered in the hospitals and to transform them into standardized postgraduate medical institutes. He said that the college was organizing postgraduate training for more than 16,000 trainees in 154 hospitals throughout the country.

DGIR Khalid Masood Gondal congratulated the fellows of CPSP on completing fifty years. He said that CPSP was an example of success as its degree was ranked amongst top seven best degrees of the world. All members of the golden jubilee committee, vice presidents of CPSP, Prof Abdul Sattar Memon, Prof Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, Prof Tariq Mahmood Khan, Prof Tipu Sultan, Prof Muhammad Amjad, Prof Amer Aziz, Prof Rakhshanda Rahman, Prof Aamer Zaman Khan, Prof Mahmood Ayyaz, Prof Hamid Mahmood Butt, Prof Tahir Masood Ahmed, Prof Riaz Ahmed Warraich, deans of faculties and chairman of golden jubilee committee were also present on the occasion.
