After wrapping “The Avengers”, Chris Hemsworth is gearing up to film “Thor 2” in August. While plot details of the sequel are still kept secret, the Australian actor recently opened up that in the follow-up film, Thor’s homeland Asgard will likely have more Viking-inspired touch with newly tapped director Alan Taylor serving behind the lens.
Speaking to Slash Film, the older brother of Liam Hemsworth said that Asgard will have “big waterfalls and mountains and a Viking influence, where the Norse mythology kind of grew from.” He added, “Having that in Asgard is going to make it all the more special and that’s what Alan wants to bring to it. I think that would be the new aspect to this one.” The “Cabin in the Woods” actor added that he has already read the script and admitted he is excited about shooting the “Thor” sequel. He said, “I have read a script and we start shooting in August. I met with Alan Taylor a couple of months ago and Natalie Portman and I and Alan and a couple of Marvel guys and it was hugely exciting.” With Taylor replacing Kenneth Branagh as the helmer, Hemsworth believed that the next God of Thunder movie is going to be more exciting. –FG
