Police say a 49-year-old robber was busted after he tried to hold up three banks armed only with a toilet-bowl plunger in upstate Utica. Utica police tell local media outlets that Lawrence Deptola went into city bank and threatened a teller with the plunger.

Police responded after two other banks had previously called authorities about a suspicious man entering their buildings. Deptola was arrested after a foot chase and charged with attempted third-degree robbery. It could not be determined if Deptola had a lawyer.                                     –NYP
