ISLAMABAD - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on the request of accused of Rental Power Plants (RPPs) case, including former federal minister for water and power Raja Pervez Ashraf, allowed them to draw up to Rs 1 million each per month to meet their running expenditures.
Sources in the bureau informed TheNation that request was made by some of the accused in the case and accepting their plea a letter was written to Governor State Bank of Pakistan, allowing these accused to draw the said amount per month from their bank accounts.
These sources further informed that in coming days the bureau could also permit the companies to draw certain amount form their accounts to meet their running expenditure as the similar request was already extended by these companies.
It is pertinent to mention here that after the case of RPPs was referred for investigation to NAB by the SC and besides placing the accused including former federal minister for water and power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on ECL the bureau had cautioned the SBP from massive amount transfer from the bankd accounts of these accused.
