PESHAWAR (APP) - National Junior Squash championship begins here under the aegis of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Saturday.

Officer in Command of the Directorate of Sports PAF Control Board Wing Commander Ijaz Khan was the chief guest on this occasion and formally inaugurated the event in which players from across the country in three different age groups, U-11, U-13 and U-15 are taking part. Secretary KP Squash Association and former World Squash Champion Qamar Zaman, Senior Vice President SM PIA Ihsan Ullah Khan, officials and players were also present during the colourful opening ceremony.

A total of eight matches decided in the first round of U-11, U-13 and U-15 categories. In the U-11 Uzair Rashid of Punjab beat Moazam of KP 3-0, Hamid Habib of PAF beat Adil of KP by 3-0, Salman Saleem of Punjab beat Huzaifa Ali by 3-0, Shehzad Khan of Punjab beat Fahad of KP by 3-0, Arsalan Ramzan of Punjab beat Mavia  Ashiq 3-0, Abbas Zeb beat Ahmad of KP by 3-0, Waleed Khan of PAF beat  Rashid Dolat of PAF by 3-2, Haris Qasim beat Noor Zaman by 3-0.

In U-13 Sami Ullah beat Darosham Khan by 3-1, Zeeshan Gul of PAF beat Usmar Hassan by 3-1, Ahmad Ali of Punjab beat Yasin Ejaz by 3-1, Sulman Shah KP beat Afaq Khan of KP by 3-0, Hamza Khan of KP beat Uzair Shoukat by 3-1, M. Junaid of KP beat Basit Khan of KP by 3-0.

, Khaizar Qasim of Punjab beat Abdul Basit by 3-0, Sumaid Rashid of Punjab beat Adnan Khan by 3-1.

In the U-15 category, Zain Ramzan of Punjab beat Umar

Khan by 3-0, Waqas Younas of Punjab beat Nasir Khan by 3-1, Usman beat Adnan by 3-0, Shah Faisal beat Asad Gul by 3-0, Kashif Asif beat Fawad Khan by 3-1, Iqtidar Khan beat Asfandiyar by 3-0, Amir beat Hamid of KP
