President Asif Ali Zardari has vowed to provide maximum relief to the poor segments of the society in the next budget.

Speaking with different Party delegations in Multan he said the PPP leadership is aware of the problems being faced by the people and is taking all possible measures to resolve them.

The President urged the party leaders and workers to reach out to the people to address their grievances and highlight achievements of the coalition government.

Asif Ali Zardari said the PPP led government will continue its policy of reconciliation to strengthen democracy and steer the country out of crisis.

He said the government has taken measures to ensure the independence of Election Commission of Pakistan. It would help hold free‚ fair and transparent elections in future and no one would be able to hijack the polls.

Asif Ali Zardari expressed the resolve to create a separate Saraiki Province in South Punjab meeting the long standing demand of the people of the area.

He directed Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to immediately initiate a consultative process with all the political parties to achieve this end.
