LAHORE – Punjab Police Inspector General has said that complete elimination of crimes, culmination of religious extremism, sectarianism and specially control of kidnapping for ransom incidents are the top priorities of the Punjab Police.

The IGP Habib-ur-Rehman expressed these views while addressing to Police Officers at Police Darbar and the media representatives at Police Line, Sargodha, on Saturday. RPO Sargodha, DPOs of Khushab, Bhakkar, Mianwali along with a large number of policemen attended the meeting.

The IGP stressed upon the police officials that they should prepare themselves to fight against crimes and appreciated the services of Sargodha Police for crushing the kidnappers especially in Khushab, Bhakkar and Mianwali. He told policemen that they should follow in the footsteps of DPO Sargodha Dr. Rizwan and not accept any kind of pressure while discharging their official duties.

The IGP further said that Punjab Police Force remained in touch with the religious scholars as only with their cooperation the force can overcome the issue of sectarianism and the religious extremism. The Provincial Police Chief further said that a regular accountability process within the force continued and honest crimes fighters were being encouraged, whereas corrupt and cowards will not be protected.  IGP also said that the children of honest and dedicated police officers will be considered during the new appointments of Police troops. Later, IGP inaugurated the “Integrated Central Digital/GPS-15 Control System” in Sargodha.
