KARACHI - At least five people including the ASWJ and PST workers were gunned down in various parts of Karachi on Monday.

According to details, three persons affiliated with the Pakistan Sunni Tehreek and Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat were gunned down in an attack at Cantt Bazaar within the premises of Shahr-e-Faisal Police Station. SHO Aslam Pervaiz said that at least four armed men on two motorbikes reached on the spot and resorted indiscriminate firing on the victims. He said that the assailants managed to flee from the scene while the victims were transported to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. But all three victims identified as Amjad Farooqui, Shahid Qadri and Saleem Qardri succumbed to injuries. Police termed the incident as a result of sectarian killing. The ASWJ spokesman condemned the incident, demanding the government to arrest the culprits on immediate basis.

Separately, unidentified gunmen restored firing at a medical store near F.B Area, killing a youth on the spot. Jauharabad police said that Fahad Ahmed was standing at the shop when the gunmen ridding on a motorbike targeted him and managed to flee. Police have so far been unable to ascertain motive behind the murder.

In another incident, some gunmen ridding on a motorbike targeted an official of Police Quami Razakar who was sitting at a tea stall in Taiser Town. Shaira Ali was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police handed over the body to the victim family after autopsy while remained unable to ascertain motive behind the murder.
