LAHORE - Punjab Agriculture department has advised the growers to keep proper distance bewteen the plants while sowing cotton crop as densely grown plants could affect the yield.

A spokesman of the department said on Monday, that if cotton is sown in April the farmers should maintain a distance of 9 to 12 inches between each plant while if it is sown in May then growers should ensure a distance of 6 to 9 inches.

He also advised that 17,500 plants should be grown on per acre of land in month of April and incase of late sowing 23,000 plants should be grown on per acre land.
