CHITRAL-Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers lambasted the party district leadership and urged the central leadership to dissolve district organisation immediately.

The workers spoke out their heart while addressing a convention here wherein PTI Provincial President Azam Khan Swati was the chief guest. The angry workers said that the PTI had promised brining in positive change but nothing happened in Chitral despite forming government in the KPK province.

They regretted that the PTI despite assurance to put bridle to ‘mighty Timber Mafia’ failed to stop brutal cut of forest. They claimed that the PTI local office had been closed for the past three months, leaving the party local chapter crippled. The speakers also criticized their district cabinet and termed the leadership a failure. They said that there are no changes in education, health and other departments of Chitral.

“The mountains having proven treasure trove have been leased out to Faryal Talpur and other politicians of the district,” they alleged, adding that Chitral having potential of 15,000 megawatt of electricity but its residents were faced with worst loadshedding.

Moreover, there are some 70 colleges of inter and Degree level but only two campus of universities are existing currently.

On the occasion, the Insaf Students Federation demanded full-fledged university at Chitral, saying that more than 10,000 students were getting education in different classes from graduate and postgraduate level. The workers informed that most of senior party workers having some grievances left the party but the district president never persuaded or convince them nor visited their homes to reconcile them.

The Insaf Lawyer Forum complained that they were being ignoring by party leadership and never took on board in any decision of the party.

While addressing to the convention, PTI District President Abdul Latif said that education fund was increased from Rs6 billion to Rs66 billion in the province, adding that the budget for Chitral hospitals had also been increased.

In his address, PTI KPK President Azam Swati said that PTI never disappointed its workers. He said that he would take up the issue mountains lease in Chitral with the party high command. He also assured the establishments of a full-fledged university at Chitral but did not talk about district cabinet in the light of complaints of the party workers.

Meanwhile, Azam Swati also administered oath to the Insaf Teachers Association office bearers at a ceremony.

Advocate Altaf Gohar, ISF President Nazir Ahmad, PTI Chitral President Abdul Latif, ISF General Secretary Israruddin, Youth Wing General Secretary Saraf Khan, Raziuddin, Sajjad Ali and Azam Khan Swati spoke on the occasion. The speakers termed the PTI Chitral chapter merely a ‘kitchen cabinet’ of three persons.

A large number of students, teachers, lawyers and party workers attended the PTI convention.
