LAHORE  - A 28-year-old software engineer was found murdered from an apartment located in the South Cantonment police on Monday. The body was removed to the morgue for autopsy.

Police investigators say they believe Adil Nazir was poisoned to death by unidentified persons at his apartment, where he was residing alone.  An eyewitness told the police that he saw two men and a woman leaving the apartment late Sunday night. Valuables including mobile phones, purse, and ATM cards of the deceased are also missing, police said. Forensic experts also reached the crime scene and collected fingerprints to help police hunt down the killers.

Muhammad Nazir told the police that his son had been finalising arrangements to leave for the US. Adil had been offered scholarship by a leading university.

The police have registered a murder case against unidentified killers on the complaint of father of the deceased. Investigators said that they were also checking mobile phone data of the deceased to reach to the culprits. Further investigation was underway.

CAUGHT: Police have arrested a man in connection with the murder of his wife in Lohari Gate area. Shumaila Bibi, mother of a baby girl, was allegedly strangled by her in-laws at their Sutar Mandi house late Sunday night. Police handed over body of the 25-year-old woman to her parents after the autopsy.
