LAHORE - Wapda won the National Taekwondo Championship concluded here at the Wapda Sports Complex Monday. Wapda players got first position by grabbing 12 gold, three sliver and eight bronze medals with 254 points, Railways earned second with seven gold, eight silver and nine bronze medals, Punjab-A third with five silver and nine bronze medals with 113 points, Sindh fourth with 86 points with one gold, four sliver and five bronze medals and Islamabad fifth position with 81 points. Awais Butt of Wapda was named best player of the event. Chief guests Rauf Hameed and Zainb Ahmad along with PTWF secretary Shakeel Yousaf gave away medals and trophies to the winners. Director Sports Wapda Col (r) Amir Roy, secretary Wapda Sports Board Imdad Memmon and others were also present there.–Staff Reporter
