ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the summary banning TLP after it inflicted huge damage to the State including capturing and injuring scores of civilian security forces personnel during the two-day violent protests across the country. Cabinet sources confirmed that the summary, moved by the Interior Ministry, has been approved by the PM.

The summary has recommended ban on TLP under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The summary has been circulated among Cabinet members for urgent approval.

The sources said that after approval, a formal notification would be issued by the Ministry of Interior on Thursday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan a day earlier had held a detailed meeting with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and DG ISI Lt Gen Faiz Hameed over the worsening internal security situation.

The sources said there was consensus in the meeting that no one would be allowed to challenge writ of the State.
