Pay attention

I am a frequent visitor of the PAF Complex Islamabad. Unfortunately, the double road leading from Shaheen Chowk (Khyaban-e-Iqbal) to the PAF Complex is in a state of total disrepair with many large potholes disturbing the smooth flow of traffic, causing unwarranted damage to vehicles. Incidentally, the same road also leads to the National Defence College where VVIPs visit frequently for participating in the NDC's activities. One would expect that roads leading to our premier military organisations to be well maintained, especially a road leading to the PAF Complex in Islamabad (where the Air chief also resides) should be maintained like a runway. This being an inter-sectoral road, the PAF probably thinks it is the responsibility of the CDA to maintain it. However, CDA is least bit concerned. Since the road basically serves the PAF Complex, may I request the Air Force authorities to at least get the potholes filled by patchwork. -SHABBIR AHMAD, Islamabad, via e-mail, August 6.
