PESHAWAR  - The Political Administration of Mohmand agency has awarded around 225 tribal Maliks, officials, journalists and notable elders for playing active role for restoration of peace and stability in the agency on account of "Independence Day" to acknowledge their efforts and sacrifices.

The initiative was aimed at highlighting the efforts of tribal people which they contributed for bringing peace, harmony and stability in the agency.

A Press release issued by FATA Secretariat said a function was organised on the eve of "Independence Day" at PA compound Ghalanai, Mohmand Agency where Political Agent Adil Siddique was the chief guest. On the occasion Commandant Mohmand Rifles Colonel Muhammad Azeem, Major Fayyaz, Additional Political Agent Said Ahmad Jan, tribal Maliks, notable elders and youth were present in large numbers.

The speakers paid rich tribute to those patriotic tribal people, who have played active role in bringing peace and stability back to the agency.

These people rendered valuable sacrifices for restoration of peace and normalcy during last few years. On the occasion around 225 tribal Maliks, officials of Pak Army, elders and journalists from across the agency were awarded with special awards to recognise their efforts.

PA Mohmand Adil Sidiqque and Muhammad Azeem of Pak Army handed over awards to tribal Maliks and presented them with traditional turbans.

During the ceremony school children presented national anthems and songs expressing their affection towards the country.
