PESHAWAR – The residents of different localities on Tuesday held a protest demonstration against the allegedly shifting of power transformer from Shiekh Mamadi Grid Station to district Mardan.

“We are already facing 22 hours prolong electricity loadshedding while with shifting the transformer the energy crisis in the areas will be increased further” said the protesting demonstrators. The dwellers of Salmankhel, Ghari Malikhel, Shiekh Mamadi and other adjacent areas got together at Sher Shah Suri road outside Peshawar Press Club and shouted slogans against provincial government and Wapda officers. The rally led by Shukat Khan Mohmand, chairman of Haqook Workers Itehad Peoples’ Party town IV Peshawar. Talking to reporters he held responsible CM Khyber Pakhtun- khwa, Wadpa and elected MPAs and MNAs for the current energy crisis, saying step mother behavior were being adopted with the residents of the areas.

 while the elected representative despite to solve their problems further increasing into them.

He said that they had allocated their valuable land for the grade station and late Benazir Bhutto had made the grade station for the welfare of the area people but present provincial government in spite of giving facilities to masses increasing more difficulties to them.

They threatened that if the shifted transformer was return to Shiekh Mamadi grade station they would besiege Governor House Peshawar and Wapda house and would launch movement against it.
