ISLAMABAD - Federal Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan Thursday surfaced on roads of the capital city especially the PTI-PAT protest sit-in venue and directed the authorities to open all exit and entry points of Islamabad.
Flanked by IGP Aftab Cheema and other higher authorities of Islamabad District, the minister visited Zero Point and directed the concerned authorities to tighten security in the city, which had faced a number of suicide attacks in the past. He, however, advised the security agencies to strictly deal with those who might create a law and order situation in the city.
Earlier, the IGP and authorities of Islamabad District briefed Nisar about the security arrangements ahead of the long march.
“We have installed CCTV cameras at 70 different places in Islamabad. Security situation across the federal capital is being monitored from the control-rooms,” the IG said.
The entry points of the Red Zone from Embassy Road have been blocked with containers. On a whole 1100 containers were installed at different entry/exit points of Islamabad.
On Thursday joint patrolling of Rangers and police continued all the day.
Marches to evaporate in
Aabpara: Pervaiz
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid here on Thursday said participants of Azadi and Inqalabi march are having a photo session on Mall Road Lahore with those who are celebrating Independence Day.
In a statement, he said when the air conditioned and luxury container march will reach the open ground of Aabpara then it will evaporate.
He said those who are demanding resignation are afraid of crossing the Ravi Bridge.
