ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that the government is committed to protect minorities' rights as they enjoy equal rights as citizens of Pakistan.

In a meeting with Dr Sham Sundar Advani, leader of Pakistan Muslim League-N's Sindh chapter, the prime minister appreciated the sacrifices and effective role played by minorities for the national cause and progress.

Dr Sham Sundar said that minorities living in Sindh deeply appreciate the prime minister's agenda of development and steps to protect their rights.

During the meeting, political situation and organisation issue of the party’s Sindh chapter were also discussed. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Dr Asif Kirmani, was also present in the meeting.
