LAHORE - Former Pakistan Davis Cupper and renowned tennis coach Rashid Malik has said that he is very hopeful of finding the budding talent from the ongoing Summer Tennis Camp here at the Punjab Tennis Academy, Bagh-e-Jinnah.
Talking to media here at the PLTA Courts, Malik, who is also General Secretary of Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) said: “The Junior Tennis Summer Camp is in full swing here at the PLTA Courts Bagh-e-Jinnah, where the promising youngsters are being trained under able and qualified tennis coaches and the kids and their parents are showing keen interest in this fruitful activity, which will help us in getting some very talented and aspiring players, who will be further trained and groomed so that they may serve the province and the country in a befitting manner.”
Thanking the sponsor of the camp, Tariq Zaman, the PLTA Secretary said: “As everyone is aware of the expenses on tennis, as we have to pay for the equipment as well as to the coaches, ball boys and many other relevant things, so we need sponsors to run such healthy activities for our youth. I am very grateful to Mr. Tariq Zaman for sponsoring this camp and I hope that he will continue to support this beautiful game, which has been gaining popularity in every corner of Punjab province as well as the entire country.”
Malik also thanked Director General (DG) Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Adnan Arshad Aulakh for initiating this camp and also inaugurated it on June 20, 2021. “I am also thankful Mr. Adnan Arshad Aulakh for supporting tennis and helping us holding this camp, which will surely help in finding and grooming budding tennis players for the country.”
