LAHORE - President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (Punjab) Ahsan Rasheed, while predicting huge changes on the political scenario in the coming months, has said those who give priority to their personal interests over the national ones, can stay in power for long. He was speaking at the Aiwan-e-Waqt here on Monday. About the National Finance Commission, he said the Punjab had played the role of an elder brother for the progress and prosperity of other provinces. However, the cake is very small, which will not bring tangible changes in the provinces. Now the government should better the tax system since only 65 persons from across Pakistan have accepted that their earning is more than Rs 50million, while Indian actor Akshay Kumar has paid Rs 250m as tax. On the other hand, all Pakistani MPs accumulatively will be paying less tax than the actor. President Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif are paying Rs 5000 annually, he commented, while felicitating Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and his team for the success of the NFC. Ahsan Rasheed opined that that government should hold dialogue with the Balochi separatists, and it must talk to the Tehreek-e-Taliban for finding a solution of the problem. The government must benefit from Imran Khans offer for talking to the Taliban. If the Americans can get ready for having dialogue with the Taliban in Afghanistan, then why Pakistan cannot do so he exclaimed. To a question about the mid-term elections, he predicted that next year mid-term polls would be held and the PTI would be one of the leading parties.
