CM urged to take up gas issue with PM

LAHORE (APP) - The business community has urged Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to take up the matter of gas suspension to Punjab industry with the Prime Minister and play his role to get this issue resolved. In a joint press statement here on Tuesday, Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Vice Chairmen Iqbal Baig Chughtai, Shahzeb Akram, Lahore Township Industries Association Chaudhry Zaheer Bhutta, Senior Vice Chairman Shahzad Mughal, Chairman Ferozepur Road Atari Industrial Association Shahid Baig and President Kahna Kacha Industrial Association Mehmood Akhtar said that discrimination with Punjab in gas supply had not only put thousands families on stake but also weakening the economy of the largest province of the country. They claimed that the exporters were losing exports orders as gas suspension to Punjab industry has halted production. Punjab, he said, would become a trading place instead of manufacturing hub. They urged the Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to play their roles for early restoration of gas supply to the Punjab industry and save million people from starvation.
