In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Tehreek-e-Hurriyet (Teh) has said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people will definitely bring fruit and they will get freedom from Indian bondage. According to Kashmir Media Service, the Acting General Secretary of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyet, Muhammad Yousuf Falahi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Jammu and Kashmir had never been part of India but the Indian troops occupied the territory against the will of Kashmiri people. He said that the then Indian leadership had promised the Kashmiris that they would be granted right to self-determination to decide their future themselves. The Hurriyet leader said the United Nations had also accepted the Kashmiris' right to self-determination and in this connection had passed several resolutions but India was yet to implement those resolutions. He demanded of the Indian leadership to give the people of Kashmir their birthright to self-determination, adding that it was also in the interest of India, itself.
