Religious scholars satisfied over security

LAHORE - Religious scholars hailing from all schools of thought should make joint efforts to foil the evil designs of enemies of the country, say members of Itthad Ban-ul-Muslimeen Committee Punjab (IBMCP). They expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club on Tuesday after visiting nine divisions of Punjab for monitoring the arrangements regarding Muharram-ul-Harram and putting forward their proposals in this regard. Members of IBMCP, including its Convener Maulana Syed Abdul Khabeer Azad, Zubair Ahmed Zaheer, Maulana Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi, Sardar Muhammad Khan Leghari, Maulana Abdul Wahab Ropari, Allama Mushtaq Hussain Jaffari, Maulana Hafiz Kazim Raza Naqvi, Pir Muhammad Usman Noori, Maulana Mufti Mubashar Ahmed, Allama Muhammad Mumtaz Awan, Alhaj Habib Ullah Bhatti, Maulana Mufti Saif Ullah Khalid and Maulana Hussain Ahmed Awan jointly addressed the press conference. They said promotion of Itthad Ban-ul-Muslimeen was need of the hour for maintaining peace and harmony. They expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements of the Punjab government during the Muharram and said they would fully cooperate with the chief minister to maintain peace in the province. Members of IBMCP said a huge responsibility lies on the Ulema hailing from all schools of thought to make solid efforts for maintaining peace to foil the designs of the forces who were bent upon defaming the Islam and Muslims. Giving their proposals for maintaining peace during the Muharram, they proposed that ulema and zakireen should avoid provocative speeches against each others sects, strictly follow the routes of Ashuras procession, all the sects should respect each others places of worship, while they also announced on behalf of ulema of Ahle Sunnat that Friday prayer sermons would be shortened, as the 10th of Muharram falls on Friday.
